Things I Miss...

Here is a list of some things I miss (not necessarily in the correct order):
  • Family that can be seen more frequently and easier. :)
  • Friends
  • Kitchen disposal
  • Washer and dryer that can operate at the same time and the load can be more than 3 articles of clothing - thank heavens for Rachel's tiny clothes! :)
  • Sunshine
  • Trees - lots of trees with leaves - I'm sure it gets better here in the Spring.
  • My piano
  • Being able to call my mom any night of the week to just chat (7-hour time difference makes it tricky).
  • Jetted Tub - I didn't use it much in Houston, but I'd use it a lot here - it's cold!
  • Mild Houston winters
  • The YMCA - I miss working out with Allison and dropping Rachel off for an hour. :)
  • One-story house - stairs are a pain to vacuum and constantly climb up and down!
  • Target - Hey, even Wal-Mart and that's saying a lot...
  • Toddler friendly parks - What's with the bars?? - Little ones need stairs to climb up.
  • Indoor play areas that are free
  • Mexican food
  • American cheeses - It must be an acquired taste over here and I haven't "acquired" it yet!
  • A library full of books in the English language that doesn't have a membership fee.
  • Storytime at the library
  • Moms and Tots playgroup
  • Elevators with up and down buttons
  • Grocery stores that bag your groceries and provide bags free of charge.
  • Free public restrooms - I wouldn't mind paying for them if they were actually clean and smelled decent.
I'm sure I'll add more later...

Hey L's-
Know that why you are missing all these things we are missing you! Take as many pictures of all these things...we want to see! We are living vicariously through you! I know it's not us going through it but you are in our prayers and nothing is going to stop Paul and me from visiting you with in the next 5 MONTHS!!!
Think of this as 'your' mission. You only have 2 years to do it...but a lifetime to look back. Take every opportunity to do as much as you can...we'll don't do it all just yet. Save some to do with me!

Good morning. I finally came to the realization that I had better start visting these bolgs so I can keep up with everything. I really enjoyed the videos of Rachel.
Your not really missing anything back here in the states, all day all I hear about is the Presidential election. All I want is more football!
Well take care of yourselves and get ready for the onslaught of family visitors.

Everyone sounds supportive and excited to come and visit you!! I know you are missing everything...but you are getting an adventure and an experience of a lifetime. Our prayers are with you guys and I wish I could be one of your family members that comes to visit you! If only...live it up for me! Someday we'll have to meet up again...I have a similar miss list for Fresno except it doesn't include having to pay for bathrooms or wanting cheese! ;)
Luv ya, Kirsten
