I have entered my 30s, as of Monday. I thought it was a pretty cool date to turn 30, 5-10-10. I love numbers, if you don't already know that about me. Poor Andy has 2 weeks of holidays every year - anniversary, birthdays, and Mother's Day. He always does a great job though. I did get a few small gifts, but my big gift was a trip to London about 6 weeks ago. I also have some cash to spend, which will be nice. I'm going to have to stock up on some summer clothes in a few weeks! I slept in a bit on my birthday (until 7:30)... Audrey's currently waking up around 6:38 every morning. We watched the bikers race by in the morning. The girls and I all took an afternoon nap. I got lots of phone calls, birthday cards, and birthday wishes - thank you! We went out to dinner to a local favorite of ours. Audrey's gift to me was staying put in her high chair the whole time we were there. :) Rachel does such a good job transitioning from her birthday to mine. She was so cute all morning long asking, "Mommy, what do you want to do for your birthday?" The same question we had been asking her for weeks! :) And then she said that her leftover birthday cake could be mine. What a sweetie! But we ended up getting a strawberry dessert. Three candles - one for each decade. We were so full from dinner that we didn't enjoy it until last night. It was definitely an enjoyable day!
About 2 months ago I made the comment to Andy about how happy and content I am right now in my life. It's not to say I've been miserable in the past... Life is just really good right now. I'm loving the ages the girls are right now. I have an amazing husband who takes such good care of me and our girls. I have good, priceless relationships with all of my extended family members. I have friends who are so much fun. Life is good! It makes me a little nervous knowing we are making a big change soon, but maybe that's why life is so good... Because we're excited and anxious to start a new chapter in our lives. I'm so grateful for happiness and for the ability to enjoy it. So, here's to my 30s and a fabulous decade to come!
